Our estimator will use the software program coolcalc to get the Manual J report that reveals the heating load of the house. The equipment necessary to handle the load will be chosen and priced according to the suppliers’ rates. The cost of labor is added to the cost of equipment to get the total.
Qualifications and Credentials
A Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer is an installer who is part of the Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor Program. According to Mitsubishi’s website, “Mitsubishi Electric created the Diamond Contractor® program. This multi-stage, in-depth training ensures professionals are kept up-to-date on equipment, new industry technologies and installation best practices… One of the many perks of hiring a Diamond Contractor is that you’ll receive up to a 12-year product warranty, the most aggressive in the industry… a standard warranty is five years for the parts and seven years for the compressor. However, by partnering with a Diamond Contractor, the parts and compressor are warranted for 12 years each as long as they are installed in a single-family home and registered within 90 days from installation…”
Rebates and Financing
The first step would be to have a Home Energy Assessment completed by Mass Save. This assessment will include any weatherization recommendations to make your home more energy efficient. The assessor will let you know which rebates you qualify for. If pursuing a whole home heat pump conversion rebate ($10k) any recommendations $1,000+ would need to be completed prior to installing the heat pump system. If pursuing a partial home rebate the energy assessment is not required and the rebate will be based on the tonnage of the system installed.
